"What? Did ya doubt my smithing skills? Ya won't find a sharper blade this side of the world lad." He takes the excess weapons back into his shop, coming back with a short sword. The blade is finely weighted, the hilt has a sturdy guard on it, and the pommel has an empty space that looks like it could contain a crystal of some sort. "This blade here will be costing ya 25 gold. Some fancy robe wearing traveller came through here a few years ago and left it here. He was bragging about how special it was, if he could just find the right crystal for it. Ya may also want ta tell that lass who left with the scimitars ta be careful. Those blades are sharp enough to cut straight through metal."

Hmm, sounds interesting but I'll stick with my sythe, let the others who need it more have it.

I pay the smith for my short sword then walk off in search of a general merchant
muttering as I walk away: half Demon filth, lucky for him I have more pressing matters or I'd consecrate my dagger in his blood

The general store isn't too hard to find. It is relatively close to the tailor shop across the square. Inside of the store is a large array of trinkets and curios. Behind the counter a very gruff looking man with a long, black beard stands flipping a coin. As you enter he looks in your direction but says nothing to you.

I look through the store staring at the various trinkets but have yet to find something of interest, I look at the man flipping the coin seeing if maybe he would suggest something interesting that might be of use

The man ceases flipping the coin and reaches under the counter, pulling out a crate containing varying lengths of rope, several flasks, and a flint rock. He then grunts, "Been getting a lot of people asking for these items. You'd better not be the local arsonist. As for you, red-skin, I don't serve your kind."

I shoot the man a deathly glare before exiting the store, Muttering 'curse' words to myself

not in the mood for arson today, at least not here but the day is young yet, would you happen to have a pack to carry this in? would it be too much to hope for a bag of holding

"Yeah I can get ya a small rucksack, but if it's a bag of holding you're after I would have to point you to the town's wizard. Be careful around her though. She can be a bit dangerous." The man puts a burlap bag onto the counter as well, shaking away any coins you offer for it. He has a bit of fear in his eyes after mentioning the wizard.

"Well, most people think she is a witch. When people have wandered into her tower before they don't return. Except for one man, he came out looking old as my grandfather and he was no more than skin on bone." He seems to shudder as he talks about her more, a bit of sweat forming on his brow.

thanking the merchant as i exit his store and head in search of this infamous tower with a slight bit a trepidation in my step and not a small amount of excitement at the prospect of meeting a seemingly powerful wizard
