Djarra assumes the cat to either have gone to another room or stayed in the one he was in. Nidhogg secures his pack and his blade, giving a nod to Djarra to signal his readiness. You can remember from looking at the map last night that getting to the keep containing the phylactery will take 3 days. From what it looked like on the drawings, the keep had high stone walls which would be very difficult to climb and you can only assume that it will be guarded by undead creatures of varying degrees.

I gather my equipment and fasten down my lute to the outside of my pack. I stretch my arms and legs as well as dust off my coat eager for adventure and coin.
"If Zni is to jump headfirst into peril how will we scare locals? I thought his purpose was to frighten other in a attempt to extort money?"

"nah, we use Deamon to scare locals, Zni is the target for death by monsters or local mobs and Santa is like our mascot since everyone needs an animal like mascot, though I wish she wasn't so ugly, we could've benefitted from a cute mascot better"

"I don't think a cuter mascot would assist in ones endeavours to fight monsters....." I say with my head planted firmly in my palm whist shaking my head in disagreement.

Once the group reaches the gate, no one really notices when Deamon wanders off into town on his own. You begin setting out, being able to follow the road for quite a while based on the map. Eventually you come to a point where you can lengthen the trip by following the road farther until it eventually turns or you can cut through the forest to save time. Going on the road will double the time it takes to get to your destination, but cutting through the forest will half the time to one and a half days.

"There there Sanya, he's just angry because we can't use Zni to extort money."
I say as I sit next to Sanya lazily.
"Anyway, I say we go through the road, the forest could have ambushing bandits while the road provides a clear view. Would be harder for someone to ambush us on a clear road."

"what woods have you been traveling?! Bandits usually attack travelers on the road, makes it easier to find targets. Either way we go there's a chance for trouble, I still say we might as well take the shortest route.

I don't care what road or path we take let's just focus on trying to get there or we will never get it done

After listening to the incessant bickering of you three for about an hour, Nidhogg snatches the map and walks off into the forest. Deciding it best to follow, you run a short bit to catch up. The travel through the woods is pretty uneventful, with the only sights being occasional small wildlife. It does start to get late and you can hear the sounds of owls off in the distance. You can choose to either make camp and sleep through the night or you can travel through the night, suffering exhaustion but not losing any time. You are about halfway to the destination at this point.
