There are a shit ton of them out there. Depending on who DM's, that will determine what edition we play in so you would have to wait for that.

Now, it should be mostly for you to decide, but it would probably be better to start off in 4th edition. It is nicer then 2nd edition when it comes to rules and learning how everything works. But again, entirely up to you.
